Making the plan

Have you had those days, when you wake up and feel a failure.  Things are running along smoothly, but still there is a niggling doubt.  Is this what I want to do?  Is this all there is?  Am I satisfied or content with what I have?
We or most of us, have these bought, if not daily, then from time to time.  We always look at others and wonder if their grass is greener than ours.  Take countries such as Austria, Switzerland and the U.K.  All of them have beautiful rural areas, vast rambling hills and lots of greenery.   Nevertheless there are subtle differences between them.
Austria, is a large country in terms of space, land and foliage, it has a small population for its area
and therefore its cities are not over populated and people choose to live in the villages outside the main city.  England on the other hand, has densely populated cities, but amazing countryside when you leave and travel off the motorways, into the country lanes, which are lined with hedgerow and trees.
Switzerland on the other hand, is a spaced out country, where people can live at the edge of the city, but still have that country quaint charm and feel, but here, the difference is, that their greenery is lush, a deep shade and a feeling for those who are old enough to remember, the chocolate boxes that had pictures of Switzerland on the outside of the box.
Which is your praline, which is your nougat and would you choose another person s favorite above your own?

To join or not

Moving once again over a 10 year stretch, and feeling this time that it is a more permanent stop,
for some reason took a longer time to establish an equilibrium status.  Now, as in other places
I have lived, there is an opportunity to join a group that offers prospective business entrepreneurs with facts, support and mentoring.

As has happened before in the past, I need to decide if I feel that I do have a place in such an
environment, or to continue to go it alone.  Do not misunderstand, we all have what to learn,
it is more a question of finding an environment that you feel you will be able to learn and grow
in, as well as show your personality, ideas and growth.

When you are 'queen' of your own classroom, where your words and opinions count, it is hard to
go back to the feeling of a child taking their own first baby steps.  It is easy to feel crushed and
lacking in confidence, knowing you can hold your own in almost every circumstance, but
unbelievably still suffering from shyness and vulnerability.

To join, take the plunge, or not to join? That is the question for today.

Making the cut

Well, after years of travel, working in a number of countries, it is time to start to build my
coaching studio.  I am attempting, being the operative word, to present myself on You Tube.
But before I can even think of sharing the knowledge, I have yet to overcome my fear of technology and my self consciousness at sitting in front of the camera.

Determination, grit and belief in sharing the knowledge is to me extremely important.  Experience from all different aspects of  life, both personal and professional, have enabled me to continue working, changing my career, when necessary, constantly learning, improving and adding to my
portfolio newly achieved and gained skills that have enabled me to be working and in demand
still today.

Never one to sit back on my laurels, pat myself on the back and rest my pencils, I endeavor to
constantly stretch myself, keep updated and face new challenges.  When I put on my hat of whatever is required at that particular moment, Coach, Teacher, Mentor or just mother and grandmother, I am
able to show confidence, intelligence, trustability and more.

So, why is it at this crossroads, I am hesitant and nervous at putting myself publicly out there?

Here we go again.

It has been to long a while since I have taken my fingers to keyboard.  As a pen and paper person, the world of technology stil holds its secrets from me, but today, as a new resolution, I am back.

In the time I have been gone, a lot has happened.  I have lived in 5 different countries, taught in
Schools, Camps and University as well as online; made new and rekindled old friendships too,
learned  about different cultures, continuously studied new subjects as well as enlarged experience on others, enjoyed great moments of happiness and those of sadness too either due to the loss of others
or the acceptance of circumstances.  The wheel of life is never easy or smooth, but more of a case of facing every new challenge with courage, laughter and effort.

There are all kinds of phrases when your life begins again, changes due to choice or circumstance, or just a coming to a certain age.  For me, none of that is necessarily true, it is all just a continuation of the same Journey that has had its highs and lows like any other person.

The difference being in our personal attitude and approach as to how we accept and take control as best we can of every situation and circumstance and forge ahead with vigor, steadfastness or just on our own steam.

This is Beverley, happy to be back, happy to reshare some of my experiences past, present and future
with you.
